Obviously, it depends very much on the session you booked.
But, generally speaking, I would like to meet you first before the session to talk about some things which are really specific to your session as a maternity session is very much different from a portrait session. Yet, the process is the same. The session will start slowly and then gradually. I will guide you through different games to let you express your feelings in a natural and authentic way while having fun. Some people will find posing very easy but most (like me!) don't. Meeting you upfront allows us to know each other a bit and will help me to tailor the session for YOU.
MATERNITY & COUPLE SESSIONS
The shooting will probably start with the two of you. Usually, because you are mostly more comfortable while your other half is here as well, at least for moral support!
Usually, the most intimate posing happen at the end of the sessions while you are very relaxed.
Again, this is very gradually and depending on how you feel at that moment. If I see some good intimacy earlier on, it might happen mid-session.
I will guide gently through the session but
I am always listening to your wishes &
your comfort level.
NEWBORNS SESSIONS
Newborns and young kids have their own agenda. So, basically we can make as many plans as we want, they are the bosses of their own sessions!
Preferably, you will have fed your baby before I arrive so we can start directly. If you are not finished when I arrive, then we will take the time (s)he requires: have you ever succeed being bubbly, sleepy and merry while starving? Well, so do they. I usually say that an half-fed baby is half-fed up: so no worries if you need extra time.
Besides, the Youngest Ones might need an extra feeding during the session: this is also fine do not worry or stress.
During this break, I will change the settings and we can decide a change of clothes or wrapping for instance.
These sessions are longer for a reason,
just relax and enjoy!
KIDS SESSIONS
Older kids require a different approach.
I will probably start the session by talking and playing with them a bit to gain their trust.
If they are really shy, I will probably try to tickle their interest by looking at their toys for instance...
Once I managed to establish a link between us,
I will gradually shoot more and more.
Also, to keep their interest high, I will use different games and settings.
You will maybe realise I am a pro at singing Baby Shark now...well kind of!
PORTRAITS
Their process depends very much on the location of the shooting.
Keep in mind, while shooting at an outside location, some people might stare.
We will play some games to help you forget the outside world.
The key is you need to be able to focus on me and my terrible jokes!
If you are not sure, maybe choose an indoor location or a more isolated outside location.
I am happy to discuss it with you &
know some wonderful spots.
PETS SESSIONS
Well it depends very much on your pet(s)!!
A cat, a dog...there is no process on these sessions.
They decide what they want and I need to adapt. :)
But I love animals so know few tricks too!
A good trick is to buy a new toy and to play with it on the day of the session...
Well, at least, it is a start!
